Save-A-Lot is recognized as a good corporate citizen and valued friend in the diverse neighborhoods we call home. In many communities ignored or abandoned by conventional grocery chains, Save-A-Lot truly makes a difference.

We work diligently to enhance the quality of life for our customers by providing great food at great prices. Beyond our store walls, we partner with non-profit organizations striving to create healthy, thriving communities. Whether lending a helping hand or reaching out to those in need, Save-A-Lot and its team of associates look for innovative and effective ways to fulfill the company's commitment to the communities it serves.

Key Giving Areas

Save-A-Lot provides support to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations through grants and select sponsorships. Priority consideration is given to organizations whose primary mission addresses the following focus areas:

Hunger Relief

Comprehensive hunger relief organizations and non-profit food distribution centers. The majority of our funding is allocated to area food banks in conjunction with store openings.

Health, Wellness and Nutrition Education

We fund organizations promoting nutrition education and maintaining a healthy lifestyle through diet.

Environmental Stewardship

Programs that promote environmental stewardship, especially related to using energy more efficiently and reducing waste.

Criteria

To be eligible for a donation, a request must:

• Include your organization's federal 501(c)(3) designation letter
• Note: charities with 501(c) designations other than (3) are not eligible for support
• Include signed and dated IRS W-9
• Fall within our focus areas

Save-A-Lot will generally not support:

• Third-party requests on behalf of another organization
• Fees for conferences, seminars or travel
• Advertising requests (including printed programs)
• Family or individual emergency relief
• Individual/team fundraising
• Travel and/or academic research
• Fees for participation in athletic or other competitive programs
• Fraternal or labor organizations
• Religious organizations (for religious programs)
• Organizations (or programs) that receive more than 30% of their funding through the United Way
• Workforce development programs

How To Apply

If you are interested in applying for support from Save-A-Lot, and your program meets one of our three focus areas, please review the directions below to submit your request. Our donation request process is now enitirely online. Before you submit your application, please have the following documents ready for upload in PDF format:

1. A scanned copy of your most current IRS 501(c)(3) certificate
2. A scanned copy of a signed and recently dated IRS W-9
