ST. LOUIS -- November 11, 2004 -- Save-A-Lot, the nation's leading limited assortment, extreme value grocery chain with 1,250 stores, is pleased to be a title sponsor for the St. Louis Gateway Classic Sports Foundation's 8th Annual "Feed The Hungry" Thanksgiving Dinner.

More than 1,000 homeless and less fortunate individuals will receive a hot meal for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday on Friday, November 12 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the St. Louis Gateway Classic Sports Complex located at 2012 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive.

Save-A-Lot, which operates more than two dozen stores in the St. Louis metropolitan area, believes in assisting the communities in which it serves. Among the company's key philanthropic efforts are fighting hunger and improving children?s welfare.

"Through our sponsorship of the "Feed The Hungry" Thanksgiving Dinner we can help provide hot, well-balanced Thanksgiving dinners to all St. Louisans," said Dan Kimack, Manager of Corporate Communications. "Hopefully events like this will continue and raise awareness so we can continue to provide our community with healthy, nutritional foods."
