December 9, 2008 – Save-A-Lot Food Stores is donating $100 in gift cards to
each of the St. Louis 100 Neediest Cases this holiday season.The $10,000 donation from St. Louis-based
Save-A-Lot is an effort to assist local families in need during these difficult
economic times.
Serving the community for more than 30 years, Save-A-Lot operates
approximately 25 stores in the St.
Louis metropolitan area. Save-A-Lot is also a leading
corporate sponsor for the area’s United
Way fundraising campaign every year.

The 100 Neediest Cases program began in St. Louis as a partnership with the St. Louis
Post Dispatch in 1922. The primary goal of the program remains the same after
80 years which is to provide help and support during the holiday season for
area families in need.

The 100 Neediest Cases program partners with over 100 local service agencies
to identify families to be submitted to the 100 Neediest Cases program.Close to 12,000 cases will receive support
