Santiago Roces

President and CEO

Santiago Roces, president and chief executive officer for Save-A-Lot. In this role, he leads the strategic direction and expansion of this hard discount retailer. Roces joined SUPERVALU in 2011.

Roces is a seasoned executive with two decades of professional experience, the majority in grocery and the balance in franchise development and logistics. He came to SUPERVALU following more than a decade of experience with Walmart, where he was most recently senior vice president and general manager, Small Formats Division. In this role, his responsibilities included all company supermarket formats in the USA, including Neighborhood Markets, Supermercado de Wal-Mart and Marketside. Prior to that position, he was senior vice president, New Business Development and Customer Experience. He also has significant experience in international markets in South America, Asia and Europe.

Prior to his time with Walmart, Roces was Franchise and Development manager for Pepsico Group’s Restaurant Division: Pizza Hut and KFC. He began his career with Carrefour Group in Madrid.
