Rick Meyer joined Save-A-Lot when parent company SUPERVALU INC. acquired Deal$ — Nothing Over A Dollar, a dollar store chain, in 2002. In his role as Vice President Real Estate & Construction – South East Region, Rick facilitates the growth strategies for the company and his responsibilities include site research, market analysis, site acquisition, store construction and store openings.

Prior to joining Save-A-Lot, Rick served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Deal$ and St. Louis-based Gramex, owner of discount retailer Grandpa's where he had responsibilities for both companies’ finance, legal and real estate operations.

Before establishing a career in retail, Rick was an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for St. Louis City and St. Louis County and served as First Assistant to the St. Louis Circuit Attorney from 1978 – 1981.

He received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and his law degree from Washington University. He has been a member of the Board of Directors for St. Patrick Center, Young Life St. Louis, the Missouri Golf Association, Bellerive Country Club, Mark Twain Bank and Midwest Bank Centre. Presently, he serves on the board of the Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association of St. Louis and as a trustee for the St. Patrick Center.

Rick and his wife reside in St. Louis. They have two children and five grandchildren.
