As a licensee, Save-A-Lot offers an array of training programs that will familiarize you with the daily operations of a Save-A-Lot food store. We offer several different programs to assist, including:

Licensed Retailer Training Program

If this is your first retail operation, Save-A-Lot wants to prepare you for success with training and practice designed to help you get up and running quickly and effectively. The basis of a shared commitment between the licensed retailer and Save-A-Lot creates a sustainable competitive advantage that can lead to profitable growth and long-term success for both licensees and Save-A-Lot.

As a new licensee, Save-A-Lot offers an initial 12-day training program that will provide you an overview of the operations of a Save-A-Lot food store. The program includes classroom and in-store training.

Whether you are new to grocery or have years of experience as an owner or manager, Save-A-Lot offers a broad range of additional training options.

LICENSED DISTRICT MANAGERS

LICENSED DISTRICT MANAGERS

Our Licensed Retail District Managers are there to help licensees in the execution of the of the Save-A-Lot program.

A Licensed Retail District Manager can:

  • Share best practices for business improvements
  • Provide owners and employees with counsel, advice and assistance with proper merchandising techniques, pricing and competition price checks
  • Make recommendations and assist with perishable and category resets
  • Review all facets of store perishable operations and counsel owners on maximizing sales
  • Analyze profit and loss statements as they relate to the perishable departments and other categories in the store
  • Initiate new perishable programs and implement merchandise plans that reinforce the Save-A-Lot image
  • Assist with the development of new stores with retailers and make recommendations for improving or upgrading facilities
  • Ensure that all retailers adhere to Save-A-Lot operating standards and are in compliance with the license agreement

Save-A-Lot Retail Information Systems offer a complete turn-key solution for all of the front end, back office and connectivity needs. We leverage the NCR Point of Sale solution along with our Custom Applications and Retailer Services to simplify day-to-day operations and to drive sales in the future.

The NCR Point of Sale (POS) solution is Save-A-Lot’s standard POS configuration. It meets all current payment card industry (PCI) standards while also providing fully integrated payments processing, promotional capabilities and standardized reporting. Software version upgrades are available at no additional charge.

Our product distribution system makes it easier to keep your store stocked with the items your customers want every day of the year.

Save-A-Lot’s nationwide dedicated distribution system is state of the art and cost efficient because
