Game Day Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Sweet and sour meatballs are the perfect game day food, and this sweet and sour meatball sauce is a winner. Comforting and warm, with all the right flavors, this recipe for sweet and sour meatballs is an easy and satisfying crowd-pleaser.


  • 1 tbsp. Vegetable Oil
  • 2 lbs Ground Beef
  • 12 oz. jar Chili Sauce
  • 20.5 oz. jar Grape Jelly
  • 2 Grade A Large Eggs
  • 1 sleeve Saltines
  • 1 Yellow Onions


1. To prepare the sauce: In a large saucepan, combine Kurtz Chili Sauce and Bramley's Concord Grape Jelly.

2. Set the heat to medium, stirring occasionally until jelly is completely melted. Turn heat to low and prepare the meatballs while the sauce is at a low simmer.

3. To prepare the meatballs: In a medium mixing bowl, combine ground beef, 2 eggs and 1/2 cup chopped onion. Shape into 1-inch meatballs.

4. Pan-fry the meatballs in a little oil. Drain meatballs and add to sauce mix. Continue to simmer for about 20 minutes. Serve in a crock pot for your sports fans — don’t forget the fancy toothpicks!
