Place hot dogs on the grill, letting them cook thoroughly for about a minute on eat side. Continually turn the hot dogs on the grill to allow them to cook evenly. When the hot dogs have been cooked, take them off the grill and onto a separate plate. Next, place your split hot dog buns on the grill face down for about 30 seconds to toast the buns slightly. Top each toasted bun with 1 slice of ham and 1 slice of Swiss cheese. Put the hot dog bun with the ham and cheese on it back on the grill for another 30 seconds – 1 minute to allow the cheese to melt, without burning the bun. Place a hot dog in each bun and top with the pickles and mustard as desired.
